Why do I need to use DataStor to
backup my data? I already have a tape drive or a Zip Disk for
backups. Because with DataStor you remove the most common element
for failure when doing backups. Is that a hardware failure? NO
it's the human element, people are the leading
cause of backup failure. DataStor is an automatic backup
system that tells you when you have a problem with your
backup! You don't have to take time to insert or verify tape
backups or disk integrity, DataStor is automatic and if
you have a problem or didn't connect to the DataStor backup server, the program
tells you it had a problem. No more guessing that
your data is safe, you can verify it daily, hourly or monthly because
you set the times and items to backup!
The DataStor Client software enables the end users to easily backup and restore their data to a DataStor Server anywhere on the network. You can even store "Eyes Only" documents on the backup server and remove the file or data from your computer all together! When you want a copy of the document, simply restore the file from the backup server, wherever you are at that time! A "Getting Started Wizard" is provided to walk any first-time user through the process of flawlessly configuring an automatic backup of their data. DataStor is an effective tool for backing up your critical data by providing a totally invisible mode of operation that silently backs up data at scheduled intervals throughout the day without interrupting the users daily work...keeping assets protected and users productive. DataStor uses a high level of encryption to insure total privacy of your data. Users may select from Secure Blowfish 448 Bit Encryption or Triple DES Encryption. This is compared to normal online banking transactions that are encrypted at the normal 128 bit level. Your documents are completely safe and secure! All data is encrypted on your local server, desktop or notebook! Your data is never sent across the connection to the backup server without being encrypted first. Administrators can use DataStor's new Tamper Proof features to rest assured knowing that users cannot make any changes to their backup configuration without permission. This feature can give each user a level of control that conforms to the needs of the user and your company policies. The client software has the familiar Explorer interface which makes it easy to use for all skill levels. The Event Manager will alert the user in the event of a failed or missed backup, so "no news is good news!" If the Event Manager notifies the user of a failed or missed backup, it only takes one click of the mouse to get the user on the right track and complete the missed event. If you are going to be rolling DataStor out to a large group of users, you can pre-configure file filters, backup selections, schedules and all options before the users install the software. This will significantly reduce the user interaction and any resulting problems when you are distributing to a large audience.
